Description:Robert "Bebo" Compton and his digging partner dug this and 35 others in a cache that won him a Best Finds of 2004 award. Bebo recently sold me the last 3 of these shells he had and each one was slightly different. This one has the brass underplug used as the sideplug. These were made at the Eagle Machine Works in Richmond and some have the AR stamp of the proprietor Adolphus Rahm, but I cannot see it on this one. They were down to using these leftover parts for the sideplugs near the end and these are only found in very late war locations.
