Description:2.9in smooth sided Read with a copper time fuse adapter and the distinctive 3 lands and 3 groove rifling of a Parrott rifle. The Confederates wouldn't have had the chance to capture many 3in Parrotts yet at this point in the war. This came out of a large, old collection I purchased from the Gettysburg area. Unlike some places that get crazy money for Gettysburg pieces, I am not asking a premium for the provenance, but it is pretty clear to me that it is good. Custom made stand that came with it is included.
