Location Recovered: Petersburg defensive line

Description:Representative example of the backbone of both armies' artillery corps -- the 12pdr solid shot cannonball. I just ran this through electrolysis and coated it for preservation. It has one area of divot that could chip off a bit more, but otherwise it looks to be ok. Although both sides used these, this is a CS cannonball with inferior iron (some gas bubble holes) and was found with about a dozen others in a CS cannon position.
