Description:I am positive this is a CS cannonball. It was found along with several others in the Confederate lines West of the battlefield that is a park. It has not been run through electrolysis because some folks prefer their projectiles that way and this one is so nice as is. The cannonball is clearly smooth with some air bubble holes showing how inferior CS iron was by war's end. A faint hint of a mold seem can be seen through the rust which is not quite as orange as it appears in the photo. This is a top notch cannonball.
