Description:Everyone likes the Read bolts but the styles with the pointed nose are very hard to get compared to the rounded nose profile. These found with and without the groove at the top of the sabot and as you can see this one has it. This type pointed bolt differs from those found in Vicksburg and other areas in that the nose above the top bourrelet is not rebated.

The iron on this is good with some even ground action all around but no heavy areas and no big pitting. It is very solid and has a very nice look. It has a darker look than the images show due to the flash.

The sabot is a medium length and medium thickness and in very good shape. This round appears to be a drop as there is no visible rifling.

This is a nice rare projectile that has been cleaned and coated and displays very well.
