Description:This is one rare & desirable projectile. As if it weren't rare enough, it was fired out of a captured Sawyer rifle in redoubt #4 at Fort Blakely. There was a Skates in that position also that fired these, but that gun had James rifling. A Blakely in that position blew up but fired different style Selma shells. I have been to this location a few times and gotten a good feel for the landscape from those visits as well as talks with old timers..
