Description:This dumpy little Confederate shell is so ugly it is cute. This is one of 14 of these rare shells recovered together in 1980. These are the only known recoveries although fewer than 10 more variants with a copper time fuse adapter have been recovered at Fort Blakely, AL.

For a long time this shell was near the top of my want list, and when I finally acquired one, it was well over $2,000. Condition on them all is similar, and the only difference on the original one I have is that it has the wood time fuse adapter still and I acquired it from a friend so it has sentimental value.
