Description:These Dyer shells for the 4.5 inch siege rifle are listed in Bell's book as a rarity 5 but they seem rarer than that. Were it not for the number found in the Savannah River at Augusts they would be considered much rarer. Finding one with rifling on it is very hard and finding one with rifling in good shape is even a lot harder. Well here is one you won't have to ever upgrade. They just don't get any nicer.
The iron on this shell is very good with only the most minor of ground action. You can clearly see a lot of lathing on the shell body; more than most I've seen. The fuse is a zinc time adapter. The sabot is what raises this shell above the rest. It has no pushes or gashes on it like many and still retains distinct rifling all the way around the shell.
Don't let this one get away!!! I am sure you'll like it!
The shell has been cleaned, coated and disarmed.
