Description:This Schenkl is from Port Hudson as most seem to come from the far western campaigns. This example has the 6 thin raised ribs and its counterpart which is slightly rarer has grooves rather than ribs. But this style is still a rarity 7+ based on the Dickey and George 1993 edition rarity rating.

The iron is very good on one side. The other side is good but shows some shallow ground action. All in all it is better than most and has a nice pleasing chocolate brown color. The fuse is in decent shape but does appear to have impacted something which marred the face. You can still make out that it is dated but it is not all clearly there. Sorry that my image didn't come out clearer.

The shell has been disarmed and cleaned and coated.
