Description:While a typical Type-III Parrott shell this one differs from most in that it has the rarely found Schenkl fuse. We've seen this configuration in 10, 20 and 30 pounder Schenkl shells

This example still has the brass ring sabot in place showing a slight pull on one side from being fired. The iron is in excellent shape. The fuse is intact but does show some scratches from impact on what I would presume to be rocky ground.

This is a really hard to get example of mainstay projectile type of the Civil War. It has been recently disarmed, cleaned and coated.
