Description:We don't see a lot of shells from Kentucky that aren't from Perryville but here is a pretty decent one from the Frankfort Arsenal site. See:
http://kynghistory.ky.gov/places/statearsenal.htm
for more info on this site. This cannon ball is believed to be a drop based on the fuse not being punched and with no dents that it might incur from impact.
The shell is uncleaned and appears to have been wire brushed and then coated. The iron under the surface rust looks quite good with only some peppering evident. As mentioned above the fuse is unpunched and not badly corroded but for some strange reason the light corrosion it does have seems to obscure any lines and numbers as they are not easily seen.
The shell has been disarmed and is lightly coated with what appears to be polyurethane. All in all this is a pretty decent rarity 5 shell.
