Description:This is a nice Parrott bolt recovered from Vicksburg, MS. The consignor recently acquired it from Dan Patterson who was in charge of selling Joe Gerache's artillery projectiles from the famous Corner Drug Store. For decades scores of projectiles have lined the shelves of the store.

According to the consignor:

The owner told me it was fired by Battery Yost into Vicksburg during the siege. It was supposedly dug from the backyard of an old house there which now stands where woods were during the siege and this is probably an overshot. If the Park Service information is correct Battery Yost had 4 Parrott guns captured from the Confederates at Champion Hill earlier.
